AN ORIGINAL SUTRADHAR FORMAT

Cinema,
reimagined
for the vertical
screen.

We don’t make reels. We make movies for the mobile screen — culturally rooted, cinematically treated, built for 9:16 from the first line of the script.

We don’t make “reels.”
We make movies for the mobile screen.

THE SLATE

Two shows live.
A universe behind them.

01 / CATALOGUE

We aren’t a one-hit wonder — we’re a pipeline. Over 100 fully developed concepts sit behind these two, spanning heartland romance, comedy-drama, psychological thriller, grounded horror and slice-of-life.

THE PHILOSOPHY

Vertical isn’t a crop.
It’s a grammar.

02 / FORM

Take the horizon away and you take away context. Every scene has to carry its own world inside one body-width of frame. That constraint isn’t a limitation — it’s the entire form.

2.39:1 → 9:16 · cropped
A 2.39:1 still sliced down to 9:16. The subject spills past the edge, the depth goes flat, and half the frame is dead sky — the composition is an accident of the crop.
9:16 · golden-ratio
A wide shot composed on the golden ratio: the figure on the right φ-line, the low sun set against it, a foreground parapet drawing the eye in. Sky, mid-ground and foreground give three planes of depth — balanced, not centred.
THE STANDARD

Culturally rooted.
Cinematically treated.

03 / METHOD
Culturally rooted

Stories that breathe real India

Highly relatable, character-driven and emotionally rich — the mohalla, the local train, the family group chat. Not aspirational sets; recognisable ones.

Cinematic treatment

Every second earns its pause

Professional colour grading, deliberate pacing, high-fidelity sound design and sharp screenwriting. Held to the same standard as anything shot for a bigger screen.

THE RULES

Four rules we
write to.

04 / METHOD
RULE 01

One subject, one intention

No room for a second storyline in the corner of the frame. Every episode carries a single want, stated inside the first four seconds.

RULE 02

The frame is a character

What sits above the head and below the chin does narrative work. Headroom is a mood setting, not a technical default.

RULE 03

Resolve, don’t truncate

An episode is a full runtime, not a trailer. Every episode lands its ending — nothing is left for a link in the bio.

RULE 04

Sound carries the depth

The frame can’t hold a deep background, so the mix does. Off-screen space is built almost entirely in audio.

Let’s create
vertical cinema.

We are not looking for a standard distribution deal. We are looking for visionary platforms ready to pioneer the next era of premium, impact-driven vertical storytelling in India.
